Distribution is Queen
And the crown jewel is email!
If content is king, then distribution is definitely queen.
And one should never underestimate the power of a good queen!

Yes, we love to chat about the value of creating, sharing and repurposing rich and relevant content. But in all the clamor over content and visual storytelling and mobile and multimedia, one very big thing often gets lost. Once you have that fab content, how do you get it in the hands of the right people? Why distribution, of course!

In fact, one recent study suggested that brands could step down their content production and step up distribution to achieve better results.1

While every type of content is a jewel in its own right (and we love to share thoughts on the value of social media and other channels as well), email is still the most effective distribution channel. Incorporating a solid email plan into your PR and marketing mix is a must.

Content Tip First impressions count!
You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression so make sure your subscription welcome letter looks good and has the appropriate information, such as whitelisting instructions and an invite to join your brand on social media platforms.

Design Tip More great pin-formation!
Incorporate PInterest into your email more effectively by mimicking the look of Pinterest boards within your email. And don’t forget to make your graphics pinable as well.

Delivery Tip While we're on the subject...
Customize subject lines to make your message more topically, or regionally, relevant. While personalizing by name in subject lines doesn’t deliver great results, using them to present your message as more relevant can help boost open rates.
