OCTOBER TIP

Though E-newsletters have a remarkably high ROI, you can make them even more effective by inviting subscribers to join you across your digital platforms. Adding subscribe buttons to your websites, email and Facebook pages is a great way to grow your list. And once people subscribe, make sure they have information on what they’ll get as well as options for updating requests and personal info.

10 Ways the Conversation Has Changed

Social media, the spread of mobile, and the shift to digital news creation and consumption has changed the way PR and marketing professionals, organizations, media outlets and consumers communicate. Plugging yourself, your organization, and your clients into the conversation is more important than ever! The world of slow moving, top down, one-directional, communications has faded.  In its place is a fast -paced, topsy-turvy world where authority bubbles up from many directions and conversations abound.

The change has happened in so many ways it’s hard to give a full accounting. But we’ve attempted a starter list of just 10 ways this seismic shift has changed how we communicate. Click below to to watch Malayna share this list.

Let us know if you have anything to add! (In next month's issue of Powerlines we’ll share 10 tips for taking advantage of this shift.)

The 10 Ways
1 Shift from one-directional to multi-directional channels
2 Multiple authors creating and sharing content
3 Speed
4 New ways to forge relationships
5 New and more accessible authorities
6 Lower barriers to entry
7 Small but passionate communities
8 Uninterrupted access
9 Borderless
10 Trust and Authenticity
