MAY TIP

Fallen in love with Pinfographics yet? If not you might want to give them a shot. Pinfographics are created specifically to be shared on Pinterest and designed to direct traffic to the host site. Pinfographics should be short, pithy, eye-catching, easy to read, highly branded and enticing. And remember, taller images are more likely to get pinned, so go vertical with your Pinfographic!

6 Fabulous Social Platforms, 6 Fabulous Ways to Cross Pollinate Social and Email
If we all took to heart the number of digital deaths reported each year, we’d be so busy with funerals we wouldn’t get much else done: Facebook, email and even the web itself have been declared deceased.

In reality, digital channels are healthier than ever before. Successful businesses are integrating a mix of tools in order to get the right messages to the right audiences. Indeed, digital channels appear to work synergistically, spurring shared growth rather than, as is often assumed, replacing one another for top spot. For example, Gallup recently did a survey looking at whether or not people become less involved with email as their engagement with social media increases. What they found was just the opposite: more social engagement was actually correlated with more email use. And users are definitely engaging with brands across the web: 36% of social media users post brand related content. So, integrating your email campaigns—the heart of any good web strategy—with your social media channels is essential.

Indeed, making the most of transmedia—using various platforms in conjunction to share a cohesive message—is a must in today’s fact-paced digital world. And once you have all that fabulous content, knowing which mediums to share it across is equally important (not doing you any good if it’s just living on your personal system!)  To give you a single example, perhaps you have a behind-the-scenes video with celebs you’re featuring in a New Media Release. You might also share the video on YouTube, publish still shots from the video to Instagram, share quotes from featured celebs on Twitter, and publish illustrated JPEGs from the shot on Pinterest. Of course, you don’t need to use every platform but cross-pollinating your efforts is a great way to spur conversation, engagement and growth.

To that end, here are 6 sites we thinks are especially fabulous with a bit of info on the value of each site and a tip for cross-pollinating your email and social content.
