  JCR publishes updated editions of 'The Essential Guide for Patient Safety Officers' and 'Practice-Based Learning and Improvement'  
 
(Oak Brook, Ill.—March 18, 2013)  Joint Commission Resources (JCR), a not-for-profit affiliate of The Joint Commission, announces the publication of “The Essential Guide for Patient Safety Officers, Second Edition” and “Practice-Based Learning and Improvement: A Clinical Improvement Action Guide, Third Edition.” Both books provide a conceptual framework for implementing strategies and tools that health care organizations can use to integrate a culture of quality and safety into their patient care.

It features a foreword by Gary S. Kaplan, M.D., chairman and CEO of Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
