CASE STUDY:
Community Support Services

Community Support Services helps people with disabilities find the support they need in their communities. Unfortunately, their website did not reflect their fabulous work. So, they brought PWR in to help them create a more dynamic and interactive site that would serve their participant families, their donors and their employees while offering useful information about people with disabilities to the community at large.

First, we created a fun and clean look for CSS using color, graphics, and a simple animated navigation bar to make the site look inviting. But the team at CSS wanted their site to truly serve their various communities, not just look pretty, so here are a few things we added to help their site meet this goal:

  • A Forum where families and other interested parties can congregate and discuss their own experiences
  • Activity Circle—a page full of recipe ideas, puzzles, riddles, craft ideas, coloring and more, a simple place where work from CSS participants can be highlighted and shared and CSS families can go for a bit of R&R
  • A Story Book with images and compelling real-life stories about some of CSS’s participants
  • An Employee Page loaded with useful info for CSS employees including an employee forum so employees can share what is and isn’t working, good info and more
  • A Resource Page loaded with useful links for interested parties

To top it all off we added a bit of video, Spanish translations of major pages, a robust on-line donation form, a sophisticated subscribe option to help with their future e-marketing efforts, a few graphs and charts to help them tell their story, web forms to make the site more interactive and loads of links (including an invite to join them on Facebook).

Now, their on-line presence reflects their work, helping them serve their community better and increase donations while they’re at it.
