Child Nutrition Testimony Garners National Media Coverage

PTA NEWSWIRE – National PTA made headlines again this week as the organization took our millions of child advocate voices to Capitol Hill on Tuesday. Byron Garrett, Chief Executive Officer of the National PTA , testified before the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry at a hearing titled, "Beyond Federal School Meal Programs: Reforming Nutrition for Kids in Schools." He presented six recommendations for the reauthorization of the Child Nutrition Act. The hearing featured a panel of other child health and education organization representatives, as well as representatives from the food and beverage industry. The news release can be viewed here.
