Listen Up! It’s PWR’s Virtual Roundtable with the Media

Ever wonder what journalists and bloggers think about news releases, social media and PR tactics? So did we. So, we asked them.

Last quarter, we reported on our interviews with ten journalists and bloggers from a variety of outlets. Our participants came from outlets including Coastal Living Magazine, NPR, Fox News and FoodProcessing.com. (Scroll down for a complete list of participants and links to their individual interviews.) We asked each of them the following seven questions and created these podcasts to share a bit of what they told us. Click the audio players below each question to listen to a sample of responses and get the flavor of what they said.

  1. How do you prefer to receive news releases? (02:57)

  2. How do you feel about getting releases from people you don’t know? (01:39)

  3. What elements do you like with a release (and how)? (02:42)

  4. Do you have any do’s regarding releases you would like to share with PR professionals? (01:46)

  5. Do you have any dont’s regarding releases you would like to share with PR professionals? (00:52)

  6. Are you using social media and, if so, how are you using it to get story leads and/or communicate with PR professionals? (02:55)

  7. How do shrinking newsrooms and the shift to digital news coverage and usage affect how you do our work and is there anything you think PR professionals should know about that? (01:39)
